A
character is the way we bring or portray ourselves through physical and
psychological actions. According to Kirszner and Mendell (2007), the actions
are developed through speech, gestures, emotions and expressions. Protagonist
is a leading character or one of the major characters in a play, film, novel,
etc. It is also an important character who is involved in a competition,
conflict or cause.
Harry
Potter is a character from the series of Harry Potter. He is known as the
cursed child of James and Lily Potter. He is the main character of the series
which is called protagonist. He is an orphan who appreciates and cherishes
friendship more than anything else. He has two best friends, Hermione Granger
and Ronald Weasley. They have been friends since the first day Harry entered
Hogwarts. Furthermore, Harry is a motivated person because he never gives up on
killing Voldermort, the antagonist character of the series who also causes the
death of his parents. Moreover, Harry is also very responsible for the things
he does. For instance, in the fifth series, The Order of Phoenix, he is
responsible to teach a group protester which consists of his friends against
their new cruel principal.
Last
but not least, protagonist is a character that involves in finding a solution
to a conflict. It can be seen through the character of Harry Potter as he does
his best to solve all the conflicts throughout the series.
